This donation improves pupils’ access to digital tools at this school, reaffirming COTCO’s commitment to education.
Government Classical High School Bibey is taking a further step towards digital modernisation. On 19 February 2026, the Cameroon Oil Transportation Company (COTCO) donated 28 computers to the school during a ceremony presided over by the Subdivisional Officer of Bibey, Clément Essama. The donation comprised 14 desktop computers and 14 laptops.

André Belle Gorsiri, Manager of COTCO’s Corporate Social Responsibility Department, represented General Manager, Jean-Paul Simo Njonou in carrying out the symbolic handover of the equipment. The donation aims to improve pupils’ access to information and communication technologies, as well as supporting the teaching of IT at this rural high school. “This initiative will benefit nearly 136 pupils by giving them access to modern educational resources”, emphasised André Belle Gorsiri, highlighting the importance of digital technology in preparing young people for the world of work.
The emotion was palpable within the educational community. “These computers are a godsend as we are emerging from difficult times”, said Headteacher Norbert Ella Onana, welcoming the support that will finally enable pupils to move from theory to practice.
The pupils were also full of enthusiasm and eager to use the newly delivered computers. “We used to struggle to put our IT lessons into practice. Now, we can finally do that”, said Eko Simon Brice, a Form 4 student.
Government Classical High School Bibey is the 22nd high school along the Chad-Cameroon pipeline to receive IT equipment from COTCO. Through this initiative, the company continues to demonstrate its commitment to education and digital inclusion, as well as to bridging the digital divide in communities living along the pipeline.
