This accolade recognises COTCO’s commitment to the transport of Chadian crude oil and the development of the regional oil sector.
COTCO made its mark at the first edition of the Chad International Mining, Quarrying and Hydrocarbons Exhibition (SEMICA Tchad 2026), held in N’Djamena from 21 to 23 January. At the closing gala dinner, the company received the prestigious “Diamond Sponsor Recognition Trophy”, which recognises its long-standing commitment to transporting Chadian crude oil to international markets.
The trophy was presented to Mr Jean D. Fosso, Operations Manager and representative of the General Manager, by Ms Haoua Oumar Abdallah, Mining Adviser to the Presidency of the Republic of Chad. This award symbolises COTCO’s contribution to Chad’s socio-economic development through operating the Chad-Cameroon pipeline. It was then presented to Alladoum Désiré Nandogongar, COTCO’s Chairman of the Board of Directors.
During the three-day event, COTCO and TOTCO collaborated on a joint exhibition stand, showcasing their activities related to operating the Chad-Cameroon pipeline. This institutional presence enabled both companies to demonstrate their technical expertise, operational experience, and strategic role in transporting hydrocarbons in Central Africa.
Notably, the stand was visited by the Chadian Prime Minister and Head of Government, Mr Amb. Allah Maye Halina, who was accompanied by a large delegation comprising government members, senators, and several other senior figures. The delegation was welcomed by TOTCO’s Managing Director, Mr Abdelgueou Hamid Hamit, and was able to learn about the operational and economic challenges of the Chad-Cameroon pipeline, which is a major infrastructure for the export of Chadian crude oil.
Throughout the exhibition, visitors showed keen interest in the stand showcasing Chad’s crude oil transporters. Mining and petroleum students, young engineers, industry professionals, and institutional partners came to find out more about how the pipeline operates and the challenges involved in transporting hydrocarbons.

On the last day, Chad’s Minister of Petroleum, Mines and Geology, Ms Ndolenodji Alixe Naïmbaye, paid a further visit, making a special stop at the COTCO-TOTCO stand. This visit demonstrates the importance that the Chadian authorities place on the role of these two companies in developing the national oil sector.
By participating in SEMICA Tchad 2026, COTCO reaffirms its position as a key player in transporting Chadian crude oil and as a strategic partner in regional energy development. This high-profile presence in N’Djamena has also helped raise the company’s profile among decision-makers, industry professionals, and future generations of engineers who will shape the future of the African oil industry.
